I object!

Dear Blog,

Things have been kind of rough for me lately. First of all, unflattering pictures of me surfaced on the internet along with outrageous accusations that I will not go into at this time. But what really bothered me was that these scoundrels didn't even give me the chance to fluff up my ear hair before taking these pictures. You know how I always like to look my best so this was very distressing. I guess this is the price I must pay for fame and good looks.

But what really has me down this week is that I have not yet been able to get my mom to let go of the bed restrictions. She refuses to allow me to use my stealth ninja moves to get up on the bed in the middle of the night and take all her covers. Can you imagine? Would she also ask a bird to not fly, or a fish to not swim? I am a free spirit! A free spirit that must be allowed to express himself by creeping up onto the bed under the cover of darkness and then burrowing in her blankets. Is it my fault she didn't buy a bigger blanket so that this wouldn't be an issue? Next thing I know she'll be blaming me for her freakish inability to retain body heat! Along with these restrictions she has also banished me to the floor at night. Sure she puts a doggy bed down with a blanket, but such accommodations are clearly beneath a dog of my status. I require a bed of at least queen size roominess and a blanket to match. I don't think this is too much to ask, especially when she doesn't even use the whole bed. Isn't she always telling Dottie and me to share? Perhaps she should do the same. A little generosity of spirit is all I ask for...and maybe my own blanket...and she could also give up the bed and go sleep with Dottie at least twice a week so I can stretch out more...just a couple of crumbs of hospitality really. The life of a pup is not an easy one let me tell you.

But there isn't much I can do I guess...well, at least until I further perfect my feather light jumping up. I wasn't born this svelte and limber for nothing!

  2. Dear cousin Alven, I too am treated in a subservient way, so I can sympathize with you. They used to let me up on the bed all the time, but then decided I was too much of an attention/bed/cover hog and banished me in one felled swoop to the floor, like an animal that isn't loved much less cherised or adimired. I too used ninja style moves to creep up on the bed at night, but with the addition of Rosie and now new foster sis Diva, I get ratted out every night! They get all excited and jump all over mom, so she wakes up and finds me curled up at her feet...then we all get kicked off! they really need to think things through, if I win we all win really...a pup meeting will have to be called. Hang in there Cousin Alven!

  3. My husband and I have a king sized bed and then we usually buy one bottom sheet then two top sheets and blankets in queen size. This way, we're not pinned under the blankets and there is plenty to go around.

Why yes, we do sleep with our dogs. They don't even ask - hahahaha. Generally they like it best in the middle.

    Your picture is pretty cute!
