Neighborhood Watch

Mom and I like to take a walk to the little grassy/park area right by our house sometimes when we go out for our girl bonding time. There is a bench there that I like to sit on because it gives me a nice view of the comings and goings of the neighborhood. It is a prime spot and I can watch people coming back from work, or kids playing, and even see my friends Bella and Fenway when they come out for their afternoon walk way before they see me. Mom says that's all fine and dandy, but that I have to be careful to not become the neighborhood busy body because then no one will want to play with me anymore. She also says people are going to start thinking she's part of some canine division of the neighborhood watch. I don't know what all that means, but if there is a group that meets up to sit on the bench and do watching then I would like to join.

I am working on putting an application together. I will list all the qualities I can bring to the group such as really good eyes for distance watching, good nose that will detect anything interesting to watch, big ears to listen for anything that happens somewhere else when we're looking the other way and the fact that I'm available to work both day and night shifts.

I've also asked my Mom to print this picture out so I can submit it along with my application. Don't I look like a serious watcher? I think it will impress them. Here's crossing my paws that I get accepted.

  1. I would say that the picture would be all that the WATCH group needs to know for a fact that you would make an excellent addition. I mean, don't THEY always say that a Picture speaks 87 thousand words???

  2. Those are some serious watching skills cousin Dot. I am very impressed. I am actually recruiting at the moment for an additional squirrel watcher in my backyard. Rosie is ok at it, but she gets easily distracted by birds. If you think you have what it takes to be on the look out for those twitchy tailed menaces, then I would like to see that resume. We can talk about your compensation for relocation later :)

  3. Well, our neighbourhood would certainly be fortunate to have such an astute member as yourself for Neighbourhood Watch!!

  5. I doubt you are going to do any watching when your friends join the group. It will come a mad party and it will be "do not call me for anything, I do not know you" time.
    You look great and beautiful.
